Our Practice

McConnell Opticians started out in 1969 by two optometrists known as Mr McConnell and Mr Beaumont.  Our senior optician then acquired the practice in 2007.  The original optician use to be a house practice on Church Street Warwick.  In 2009 the practice relocated to Swan Street Warwick for a bigger presence at a prominent position.  The practice had a brand new refitted surgery to provide optometry services.

We are proud and honoured to be serving the community of Warwick.  Our first class optician services now attract patients from Leamington Spa.  Due to our impeccable patient care to all ages, we are seeing patients from Stratford upon Avon who book eye examinations and purchase premium varifocals.

Our knowledgeable staff place a great deal of importance on the level of patient care and service by offering a full eye examination, retinal camera and glaucoma assessment.

Our friendly and proficient staff will aid you in-selecting the right lenses and providing advice on eyecare.  As a smaller company it is easier to give you a wider choice of lenses as we are not restricted with a buying policy dictated by a head office, so we always offer the best solutions and explain fully, regardless of cost.  We always go a step further than other high street opticians to give you the best professional support and care.

Our Optician

Our senior optician Balraj Bhupla or commonly known as ‘Bal’ originally studied pharmacy in 1987 at the University of Manchester and worked as a pharmacist in the local community.  He soon come to realise that he was passionate about patient care but not in the field of pharmacy.  Upon realising this, Balraj enrolled at the prestigious Aston Optometry School to study optometry.  Balraj has been an optician for over 25 years that prides himself in providing high quality clinical eyecare to his patients.  He has vast experience in post cataract surgery checks and running minor eye condition services at his practice.

Outside of work Bal actively likes to read, travel and spend quality time with his family.  Recently he has started to participate in classes to learn how to play the drums.
